"Groove-oriented improvisational-minded folk rock with a smattering of world music flavors is Milwaukee musician Mathew Haeffel's stock in trade." --Jamie Lee Rake (Shepherd Express June 8, 2008)

Mathew Haeffel is a musician. Not a solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, et alia act. Yet he performs solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, et alia. Mathew has numerous talented musician acquaintances, which he arranges into different ensembles according to the circumstances of an event. Haeffel plays an upwards of 100 shows per year and needs a variety of players to be able to play out so much, and work around those players schedules. After attempting for many years to create a solid group, Mathew has found that having an array of talented musicians to pick from is a much better approach. He quickly learned the value of being around so many talented and different musicians, as well as the ability to create the perfect arrangement for any setting.
Solo Mathew Haeffel has performed in numerous settings. Including but not limited to night clubs, bars & restaurants, weddings & other ceremonies, music venues & festivals. His solo performances are as dynamic and engaging as any band arrangement, great for venues looking for an excellent performance on a limited budget. Solo, Mathew can alter his performance to fit a quiet ceremony, an intimate venue, or create "party" atmospheres. By enlisting the art of pianissimo and fortissimo, as well as adjusting tempo, Mathew has complete control over his material and is able to make on the spot alterations for any setting. In other words, he is able to play quiet/loud fast/slow, whatever the situation may require. He has been known to play a beautiful wedding ceremony, and follow it up with an upbeat reception performance.
