Mathew Haeffel is a musician. Not a solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, et alia act. Yet he performs solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, et alia. Mathew has numerous talented musician acquaintances, which he arranges into different ensembles according to the circumstances of an event. Haeffel plays an upwards of 100 shows per year and needs a variety of players to be able to play out so much, and work around those players schedules. After attempting for many years to create a solid group, Mathew has found that having an array of talented musicians to pick from is a much better approach. He quickly learned the value of being around so many talented and different musicians, as well as the ability to create the perfect arrangement for any setting.

Solo Mathew Haeffel has performed in numerous settings. Including but not limited to night clubs, bars & restaurants, weddings & other ceremonies, music venues & festivals. His solo performances are as dynamic and engaging as any band arrangement, great for venues looking for an excellent performance on a limited budget. Solo, Mathew can alter his performance to fit a quiet ceremony, an intimate venue, or create "party" atmospheres. By enlisting the art of pianissimo and fortissimo, as well as adjusting tempo, Mathew has complete control over his material and is able to make on the spot alterations for any setting. In other words, he is able to play quiet/loud fast/slow, whatever the situation may require. He has been known to play a beautiful wedding ceremony, and follow it up with an upbeat reception performance.

Duo, Mathew typically performs with either a kit or hand drummer. His music is very "rhythm" driven, and a percussionist helps to accent the eclectic array of different syncopations. Haeffel knows many talented drummers each with different strengths capable of playing for any type of setting. Drummers are capable of playing quietly with brushes & hot rods or loudly with sticks, while incorporating the art of pianissimo and fortissimo. As with solo performances, duo arrangements are capable of adjusting performance to fit any circumstance.
Trio, Mathew typically plays either with a bassist or keyboardist, added to the base "duo" of Haeffel & a drummer. The trio arrangement is meant for venues looking for more bang for their buck. Adding a second melodic instrument compliments Haeffel's writing as it would any music. Mathew knows many talented bassists and keyboardists capable of enhancing his performances. The trio is less capable of playing as quiet as a solo or duo act, but the talented musicians Haeffel employs are more capable than most when required to play pianissimo.
The quartet, quintet et alia arrangements are designed for larger venues and festivals. Arrangements may include keyboardists, bassists, horn players, percussionists, guitarists, etcetera…added to the base "duo" of Mathew Haeffel and a drummer. While large ensembles are an enjoyable arrangement for Mathew and the other performers, they are not always needed for most venues, and may be out of budget for some establishments. For this reason Mathew Haeffel has learned to alter his performance arrangements to be able to fit into any venue and any budget.
